Carlitos Paez Vilaró
Survivor of The Andes Plane Crash
He was born in Montevideo, Uruguay, on October 31, 1953. On October 13, 1972, when he was 18, he embarked on a trip to Chile that would change his life forever.
The plane in which Carlitos traveled, along with 44 other passengers, crashed in the middle of the Andes Mountains at 4,200 meters of altitude. After 10 days of useless searches, in a place where according to experts it was impossible to survive, the authorities decided to suspend efforts and accept that they would not come back alive. 72 days later, when Nando Parrado and Roberto Canessa crossed the Andes in search of help, the world learned that 16 people had survived.
He is Agricultural Technicial and in 1992 entered the advertising career joining the creative team of Nivel / Publicis.
He founded his agency, Rating Publicidad, and was director of Bates Uruguay Publicidad.
Since 2002, he has developed an intense activity as an International Lecturer.
