Cristiano Gonçalves joined Hyatt Hotels & Resorts on February 1, 2023, as Vice President of Development South America.

Graduated from École Hôtelière de Lausanne, Cristiano started his career in 1998 as a management trainee at the then Hyatt Regency San Diego, currently The Manchester Grand Hyatt.

In 1999 he joined Accor Hotels as Assistant General Manager. In 2001 he was promoted to Development Manager in Brazil, and for the following 6 years he directly participated in the development and contract execution of more than 100 new hotel deals. In 2006 Cristiano accepted the position of Director of Development for Central America and the Andean Region for Accor, based in Bogotá. One year later, he also accumulated the responsibility of Director of Operations.

In 2008 Cristiano was hired by Hilton Worldwide, where he stayed for 5 years as Vice President Development for the Andean Region and was responsible for signing strategic deals for the company.

In 2013 he was invited to join InterContinental Hotels Group as Regional Vice President of Development for Latin America, where he stayed for 9 years. At IHG Cristiano was responsible for increasing the company’s portfolio of hotels in the region and for retaining its existing footprint.

Cristiano is based in Miami, FL.
