SAHIC Deal of the Year Award
The Deal of the year Award went to the AccorHotels acquisition of Fairmont, Raffles and Swissôtel brands. Accepting the award on behalf of AccorHotels was Philippe Trapp, Executive Vice President Operations Luxury & Upscale South America.
Honoring one of the most prominent hotel chains in the industry for the strategic acquisition of Fairmont, Raffle and Swissôtel brands. SAHIC recognizes the significance of this deal that enables AccorHotels to increase its footprint across the world.

SAHIC Best New Hotel or Mixed-Use Hotel Development of the Year Award
The Best New hotel of the Year Award went to the Hyatt Centric Montevideo located in Uruguay.
Accepting the award on behalf of Hyatt Centric Montevideo was Nestor Sztryk, owner and responsible of the architecture and construction of Hyatt Centric, Montevideo. and Camilo Bolaños, Vice President, Real Estate & Development Latin America, Hyatt Hotels Corporation.
The opening of the Hyatt Centric Montevideo is a milestone within the Uruguayan hospitality industry.
With its modern design and wonderful amenities this exceptional hotel has become an integral part of the Montevideo landscape.
SAHIC Hotelier of the Year Award
The 2016 Hotelier of the Year Award went to Mr. Craig Mueller, Vice President of Development for IHG Americas, in recognition of his immeasurable contributions to the hospitality industry for nearly three decades. He has been a key figure in the sustained growth of the area, especially through the Americas.
SAHIC extended a Special Recognition to Mr. Ricardo Mader Rodrigues, Managing Director of Advisory and Asset Management Services for the Americas Region of JLL Hotels & Hospitality Group.

The properties should be newly built beginning operations with a maximum of 3 years of operations up to 120 days prior to SAHIC’s dates.
