Local customs & Visas


Most nationalities can enter Argentina without a visa for up to 90 days. To find out whether you need a visa to enter Argentina, enter here:

Citizens from the Mercosur need only their national ID to enter the country.

Citizens from Australia and Canada do not require a visa but need to pay a reciprocity fee (which is valid for several years) in order to enter the country. Dress code

Dress code for SAHIC South America is Smart casual


Tips are not included in checks. Usually a tip of 10% will be expected.


Official language is Spanish. Argentineans have a particular way of speaking the language using “vos” instead of “tu” to say “you”  among plenty of other localisms.


In Buenos Aires (and Argentina in general) the standard greeting is one kiss on the right cheek, both for men and for women.


Buenos Aires is blessed with a temperate and sunny climate, which makes it a great destination at any time of the year. Annual average temperatures are around 18ºC (64°F).
