Enrique Gamero Maldonado- General Manager, Inkaterra
Enrique Gamero is the general manager of Inkaterra, a pioneer in ecotourism and sustainable development with more than two decades of managerial and operational experience in the hospitality industry in high-level companies and government entities.
Since its foundation in 1975, Inkaterra disseminates the cultural and natural values of Peru through a holistic approach, which produces scientific research as a basis for the conservation of biodiversity, education and well-being of local communities in the Amazon rainforest. Madre de Dios, the cloud forest of Machu Picchu, the Sacred Valley of the Incas, the city of Cusco and the marine-coastal desert of Cabo Blanco.
Among the main recognitions that Inkaterra has received under his leadership are the prestigious LEC 2017 award in the 'Large Company' category and the 2018 World's Best Award from Travel + Leisure, which named Inkaterra La Casona (Cusco) as the best hotel in Central and South America. Welcoming more than 200,000 travelers each year, Inkaterra is part of Relais & Châteaux, Virtuoso, National Geographic Unique Lodges of the World, Traveler Made and Signature Travel Network, among other international alliances.
Enrique has had a successful proven career managing five-star hotels in Peru. He has an MBA with specialization in Executive Management and Finance, a Master in Business Administration and postgraduate degrees with specializations in Banking and Finance and Business Management. In turn, it has solid knowledge of the hotel and tourism sector with a wide range of customer contacts.
Currently, he is in charge of 7 hotels nationwide in the regions of Cusco and Madre de Dios. His position is responsible for the management and operation of the company, as well as budgets, sales and cost management, commercial, operational and administrative processes.
