Javier Posas -
Country Head, IFC
Javier Posas is the Senior Investment Officer for the International Finance Corporation (IFC), a member of the World Bank Group, responsible for business development in the Manufacturing, Agribusiness, Tourism, Property and Retail sectors across the Andean Region, based in Bogota, Colombia. Javier has been in IFC for 10 years. Prior to his current post he had the opportunity to contribute to the strengthening of IFC’s footprint in Central America as he served as IFC Country Head for Guatemala and El Salvador, based in Guatemala City and prior to that as Country Head for Honduras. Javier has supported IFC Investments and Corporate Advisory programs in the region, contributing to lead investment transactions, developing new business opportunities and monitoring IFC investments portfolio in a number of sectors such as financial institutions, infrastructure, manufacturing, agribusiness and services.
Before he joined IFC, he worked in Corporate Finance Advisory at PwC N.V Amsterdam and in credit risk management at Citi. He is an Industrial Engineer and holds an MBA from INCAE Business School, an Executive Masters in Financial Management from Rotterdam School of Management and completed executive programs in Global Leadership by INSEAD Business School and in Development of Capital Markets from Columbia University.
