Mr. Mohit Budhrani is a Belizean entrepreneur with almost twenty years of professional experience. His interest in finance led him to pursue a degree in Finance and Management Information Systems from the University of South Florida (USF). After completing his studies from USF in 2005, Mr. Budhrani started his career at Merrill Lynch Investment Management Company, where he gained invaluable financial services knowledge and skills. His exposure and involvement in various undertakings during his tenure motivated him to consider starting his own business. In his free time, he started to conduct market research on potential business opportunities, hoping to zero in a on profitable venture. There was always a lingering desire to own a business, particularly since he grew up in a family of entrepreneurs and experienced the control, freedom and flexibility that accompanied it. Armed with passion, principles from the classroom, hands-on experience gained in a corporate environment, and insights and values from a family business, Mr. Budhrani launched his first business. He opened a retail mobile phone store in Tampa, Florida which quickly became wildly successful and grew to 10 stores within six months. He later decided to cash out, sold his flourishing business to a large company and returned to Belize where his family and support system resided.

In late 2006, Mr. Budhrani became one of Belize’s first retail technology vendors when he established VIP Wireless. As President, he grew this retail outlet into a thriving business that is recognized for offering reputable electronics and technology products in Belize. After 17 years, the company continues to flourish with product offering on a commercial scale.

Mr. Budhrani later identified other high potential opportunities and decided to take advantage and diversify his investment portfolio. In 2018 he founded Prudential Real Estate, a firm which specializes in real estate investments, particularly in Belize City, where Mr. Budhrani owns a collection of residential and commercial properties. His journey as a savvy investor that is focused and strategic, has allowed him to achieve financial wellness. This level of success allowed him to leverage his experience and resources into alternate investments in the hospitality industry. In 2017, Mr. Budhrani partnered with private investors, took a bold step and acquired a boutique hotel in Caye Caulker. The hotel is operating successfully and has contributed to Belize’s growing tourism industry.

In 2018, taking another route, yet maintaining his other roles in tourism and the business sector, Mr. Budhrani was appointed to serve as a member of the Belize City Trade Licensing Board. His involvement allows him to share his business acumen and become more engaged in the strengthening of sound business practices.

Considering his interest in developing the tourism industry, particularly in the area of sustainability, in 2020 Mr. Budhrani was appointed to serve as Vice Chairman of the Belize Tourism Board (BTB). That same year, he was also appointed to be First Vice Chair of the National Sports Council of Belize. His participation on these Boards has provided him the opportunity to share his talent, provide sound counsel and offer strategic direction.  In early 2021, Mr. Budhrani then became the Chairman of the Belize Tourism Board ( BTB ), a pivotal role that has allowed him to exercise his leadership strengths, and influence the Boards’ direction and priorities. His wealth of knowledge in business and his expertise in finance also allows for high standards of governance for the Board.

He is recognized as a philanthropist for his charitable initiatives on an annual basis, and for his support of grassroots organizations that focus on women, children, sports and education. These roles have allowed him to further expand his contributions to many Belizeans.
