Eduardo Cavaliere
Mayor of Rio de Janeiro

Eduardo Cavaliere is the Mayor of Rio de Janeiro, having taken office in 2026, following his election as Vice-Mayor in 2024. He was elected a Representative for the Rio de Janeiro State Assembly (2023–2024) (Social Democratic Party - PSD). He served as the City’s Secretary for the Environment (2021–2022) and as the Chief Secretary for the Mayor's Executive Office (2022–2024). He was also elected National President of the Brazilian Capitals for Sustainability Network (CB27) and was selected by the United Nations as an @OurFutureAgenda leader to represent future generations. Cavaliere holds a degree in Law with a minor degree in Applied Mathematics from Fundação Getulio Vargas.
